YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – As Fred, Pat and Patrick Moran and Mandi Moran-Fluck look back on 2022 and their seven-location exterior remodeling business, there are two high points on which the family can agree impacted themselves and their community.
Double-digit growth brought success, but also challenges in maintaining excellent customer service and internal processes, they say. The Morans own Window World of Youngstown.
Early in 2022, Patrick Moran introduced the team to a systematic approach to leadership and communication to improve focus, growth and getting things accomplished.
“It’s called Traction,” he says. “We use Traction tools daily to help stay focused, prioritize tasks and improve our culture, which in turn improves our service to our customers. It’s especially valuable today, as we continue to add office and service employees.”
As Patrick and Mandi focused on operations of the business, dad Pat and grandfather Fred showed their gratitude for their success with a major donation to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley’s emergency room expansion project.
“My son was born with a birth condition and we got involved with all kinds of doctors at Tod Children’s Hospital,” Pat says. “We didn’t have much back then, but they took care of us. Today we’re so blessed to be able to help Akron Children’s. It all stems from when my kids were little. That’s what I appreciate about Akron Children’s – families don’t have to worry financially about getting care for their kids.”
Fred and Pat also committed to sponsoring the renovation of the community conference room at the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber office on Federal Street in downtown Youngstown. The ribbon-cutting is scheduled for Feb. 8. That’s when the new high-tech room will be available for use by community groups and nonprofit organizations.
