Grand River Cellars
Grand River Cellars and Restaurant, is located in the heart of the beautiful Grand River Valley Wine Region. The four seasons are perfect for grape-growing and wine-drinking. Sip on a glass of wine on our outside patio among the colorful trees of the surrounding woodland or cozy up to the fireplace inside the winery.
Common interests – grapes and wine – motivated us to purchase Grand River Cellars in 2005. Restoring it and returning it back to the winery it once was in 1976 with some additions was our goal. Grapes now populate the front acres of the property and a thriving winery with party rooms and a large outside patio are nestled into the woods. It’s calm and quiet during the week while weekends are filled with music and celebration.
The winery property is located on the border of Thompson and Madison Ohio. The grapes benefit from the air drainage located in the higher lands of Thompson, passing over the flat lands of the vineyards, down into the Grand River Valley basin.
Our private dining room offers a relaxed atmosphere throughout the week and then transforms info a supper club setting on the weekends. The main dining room offers warm fires in the winter and a wooded setting in the summer with a large outside patio. Two additional rooms are available to rent for private events or additional seating.
Our wine list is long offering something for everyone. We are proud to have received some of the top awards in the state including Best Red, Best White and Best Dessert Wine. In addition, our wines continually win gold medals in the international wine competition.
