Along the south shore of Lake Erie, through the valley created by the mighty Grand River, atop the ridges carved by ancient glaciers and in tiny microclimates nearby, northeast Ohio boasts more wineries per square mile than in any other region. CANAL COUNTRY WINE TRAIL
The Ohio and Erie Canal was built in the early part of the 19th century and completed the final water link, via the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, between the Great Lakes and the Gulf of Mexico. Today remnants of the Canal are preserved in an area rich in history, beautiful scenery, unique cultures, natural resources and leisure activity options. Dotted throughout the region are some of Ohio’s most charming wineries.

Appalachian WINE TRAIL
