Winner Aviation to Host Drone Racing League Competition
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Nineteen teams representing Trumbull County school districts will participate in the third annual Trumbull County Drone Racing League competition.
The competition will take place April 13 at Winner Aviation’s hangars at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Youngstown campus.
The first race will start at 9 a.m., and tournament play will begin at 11:15 a.m.
The competition will feature a diverse range of challenges, including head-to-head racing, capture-the-flag contests and portfolio presentation displays, providing participants with a comprehensive platform to showcase their talents and creativity.
Professional drone pilots from MultiGP will be on hand to offer guidance and support to the competitors.
Each team has been equipped with two race drones and essential resources, including a 3D printer, starter kits and professional development training courtesy of Drones in School. The Drones in School program, a cornerstone of the competition, offers students hands-on experience across the entire engineering process, from design and construction to piloting and racing. The program aims to cultivate a new generation of skilled professionals poised to excel in the evolving field of drone technology.
