WKBN-TV Promotes Amato to Executive Producer
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – WKBN-TV 27 this week announced the appointment of Katelyn Amato as executive producer – nightside. She is currently producer of First News at 10 on Fox Youngstown.
In her new role, Amato will oversee late evening newscasts on WKBN, WYFX and WYTV.
“I’m excited to lead an outstanding team of journalists,” Amato says. “I look forward to continuing to push our team forward and creating new opportunities for success.”
Amato grew up in Columbiana County and graduated from East Liverpool High School. She earned a B.S. in broadcast journalism from West Virginia University. She has served as a news producer with stations in Steubenville, Columbus and Pittsburgh before returning to the Mahoning Valley.
Amato’s promotion will be effective in June, upon the retirement of Marty Oravec, who has led nightside coverage at WKBN for almost 15 years.
