WRTA Announces 13 Businesses to Be Featured in Campaign

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Western Reserve Transit Authority on Monday announced the businesses that were selected to be featured in its Give Local Small Business a Lift campaign.

More than 100 small businesses applied, and 13 were selected by the campaign co-chairpersons, Teresa Miller, executive director of Mahoning Valley Development Partners; David Wilaj, director of the Mahoning Valley Logistics Council; and Dan Procopio, product manager at CBC Global.

The businesses that will be featured are All Spruced Up Cleaning Co., Avalon Downtown Pizzeria, J. Jenee Spa & Wellness, Gloris Counseling Services, La La Love Healthcare LLC, Charly’s Family Restaurant, The Joshua Tree, The Emma Elf Project, Rescued to Riches Pet Groom and Board, Bending Oak Permaculture Farm, Haus Auto Group, Guided Compass Holistic Health and QuickMed Urgent Care.

The businesses will be promoted on WRTA buses and its digital sign downtown, on social media and in television commercials. The businesses will also be entered into two random drawings, where one winner will receive a TV campaign from WKBN-TV 27 and one will receive a social media campaign from StrategiX Social.

“Many of our riders are heading to or from jobs, and we wanted to support the businesses that employ our riders,” said Dean Harris, executive director of WRTA. “Running a small business is not easy, and operating here in the Valley might even be more challenging. The work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit of the small business owners is amazing.”

A campaign kickoff event will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Concept Studio, downtown.

The campaign is sponsored by The Business Journal, WKBN-TV 27 and StrategiX Social, a division of Farris Marketing.
