WRTA Announces ‘Give Local Small Business a Lift’ Winners

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Western Reserve Transit Authority on Thursday announced the 12 businesses that will be featured as part of its “Give Local Small Business a Lift” campaign. 

The campaign is designed to promote local small businesses, spotlighting 12 that exemplify the Mahoning Valley’s entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic.

After more than 90 nominations were received, three local community leaders serving as co-chairpersons – Anthony Trevena, executive director of the Western Reserve Port Authority; Teresa Miller, executive director of Valley Economic Development Partners; and David Wilaj; director of the the Mahoning Valley Logistics Council – helped to select the 12 winners.

The businesses that will be featured as part of the campaign are:

  • Cal-Ohio Lube Products;
  • Heroes and Tiaras;
  • EndTime Grafix;
  • Pop! Art Books Culture;
  • J&J Complete Lawn Care;
  • YoGo Bikeshare;
  • Sunstone Garden LLC;
  • Sweet Grace Anna’s Fancy Cakes & Bakery;
  • A Fresh Wind Catering;
  • Aisle One Mobile Market;
  • Overall Paint Co.;
  • Unique Locs & Natural Hair Boutique LLC.

The businesses will receive promotion on WRTA bus sign advertising, graphic branding on the digital screen over Federal Station and social media, as well as TV spots and ads in The Business Journal.

A kickoff event will take place April 27 at Concept Studio, 217 W. Federal St. Drawings will be held at the event, and two featured businesses will each receive one of the following:

  • A $3,000 TV advertising campaign from WKBN TV;
  • A 12-month social media campaign created and produced by BOP Social.
