WRTA Expands Warren Express Route
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Starting today, the Western Reserve Transit Authority will be able to serve Tod’s Crossing and Hampshire House aApartments with an expanded Warren Express Route.
The expansion was made per the request of Cheryl Saffold, Warren’s 6th ward councilwoman, who said there has been “tremendous need” for expanded WRTA service in the 6th ward.
“Residents had to walk several blocks to board the bus,” Saffold said. “Now with the revised bus route serving the Tod’s Crossing’s elderly housing development and the Hampshire House Apartments, the needs of the community will be greatly served.”
The WRTA 28-Warren Express Route departs hourly from the Federal Station downtown here Monday through Saturday from 6:40 a.m. to 5:40 p.m., and includes a stop at 4th Street SW and Tod Avenue to serve those residents.
“We’re happy to bring WRTA service to these new areas,” said WRTA Transportation Director Judy Rodriguez. “We’re committed to providing Warren-area residents with safe and reliable transportation. That commitment was demonstrated in September when we doubled our Warren Express departures, from once every two hours to one per hour.”
Residents can view a revised route map and complete schedule for the 28-Warren Express route at WRTAonline.com, and on the WRTA myStop smartphone app.
