WRTA Gives Local Small Businesses a Lift
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Western Reserve Transit Authority is encouraging residents to “Get on the bus! And give local small business a lift!”
Beginning May 1, the start of National Small Business Week, WRTA will promote and share the stories of 12 local small businesses with signs on their buses, on its digital sign above Federal Street station, on social media and more.
Business owners and staffers can apply to be one of the 12 selections by visiting WRTAOnline.com and completing the short application form. One business will win a $3,000 TV advertising campaign on WKBN-TV 27.
Businesses on or very close to a WRTA fixed route are eligible. Companies should check WRTA route maps to confirm their relevant location. The 12 businesses will be announced mid-April.
Interviews with selected business-owners will be featured on WRTA’s Community Resource page on its website. Details about the business, its offerings and contact information will also be featured. All of the selected businesses will be promoted on social media, TV, WRTA bus signs and the digital sign above Federal Street station throughout the spring and most of the summer.
A kickoff event will be held April 28 at Concept Studio downtown. During the event, the name of one of the 12 businesses will be drawn from a fishbowl to determine the winner of the TV advertising package. For more information, visit WRTAonline.com.
