WRTA Names Chairpersons for Annual Campaign

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Western Reserve Transit Authority on Tuesday announced the chairpersons for its 2024 Give Local Small Business a Lift campaign.

The campaign, now in its third year, promotes local small businesses that exemplify the Mahoning Valley’s entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic. Twelve businesses are chosen from about 100 nominations each year.

The chairpersons will select the winners and present their awards at a kickoff event April 18 at Concept Studio, downtown.

This year’s chairpersons are Teresa Miller, executive director of Valley Economic Development Partners; David Wilaj, director of the Mahoning Valley Logistics Council; and Daniel Procopio, product manager at Columbiana Boiler Co.

Miller and Wilaj are returning co-chairs from the 2023 campaign. Procopio is serving as a chairperson for the first time.

Small businesses in Mahoning County can nominate themselves by completing a form on WRTA’s website. Nominations will be accepted through March 28.

After nominations are received, the three chairpersons will select the 12 winners, and those businesses will be promoted on WRTA buses, its digital sign downtown, on TV commercials and on social media.
