Sen. Brown, Dean Harris Discuss What $32.6M in Funds Means for WRTA
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — The Western Reserve Transit Authority has received $1.5 million in federal funding with more on the way. In total, over the next five years WRTA will receive $32.6 million as part of the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, visited WRTA Tuesday afternoon to meet with local transit leaders and tour the facility.
“One of the goals of this infrastructure bill because it’s a jobs bill is to get the dollars out the door quickly,” Brown said during his visit. “So that we can begin transportation projects. So that we can begin extension of broadband. We can begin the transition of these buses and the retraining of workers so we can do all of that.”
