WRTA Selects 12 Nonprofits as Holiday Lights Honorees
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Western Reserve Transit Authority on Monday announced the 12 nonprofits that will be honored as part of its 2024 Holiday Lights campaign.
The organizations were selected from nearly 100 nominations by local judges for their exceptional work in the community.
The 12 organizations are Clover Recycling, Diva Donations, Dylan’s House, Friends of Fido, Limitless Dance Co., Mahoning County Public Special Olympics, Olivia’s Grace, Sight for All United, United Returning Citizens, Veterans Haven, Yellow Brick Place and Youngstown Lions Club.
The honorees will be celebrated Nov. 21 during an event in the DeYor Performing Arts Center, downtown. WRTA and sponsors StrategiX Social, WKBN-TV, First National Bank and Adsposure will provide additional recognition and exposure on TV, social media and bus signs.
“We want to thank these deserving organizations for their work, of course, but we also want to help them build additional awareness in the community,” said Dean Harris, executive director of WRTA. “With additional awareness, they can help more people and perhaps even gain some supporters and donors.”
The public can help select one of the honorees as Non-Profit Organization of the Year, which will recognize an organization that has gone above and beyond in its efforts this year. To learn more about each of the nominees and vote by 5 p.m. Nov. 15, click HERE.
