YBPW Names Youngstown CityScape Leader ‘Woman of the Year’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown Business & Professional Women named Sharon Letson, executive director of Youngstown CityScape as its “Woman of the Year.”
Letson will be recognized at an Oct. 18 event to be held at The Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, Poland, during National Business Women’s Week, according to a YBPW news release. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships which assist deserving women pursuing higher education in the greater Youngstown area.
As Youngstown CityScape’s executive director, is responsible for taking the organization from a handful of volunteers to more than 800 “who make the city of Youngstown a more beautiful place,” the release continued.
“With Youngstown CityScape celebrating its 25th year last year, and much of that growth being a direct result of the hard work Sharon has put in, we wanted to make sure she received the recognition she so well deserves. We’re so excited to be able to honor Sharon as this year’s Woman of the Year,” Janelle Woods, YBPW president, said.
Before joining Youngstown CityScape, Letson served as director of Youth Leadership Mahoning Valley for nine years. She also serves on several boards, including the boards of Action and Community corrections Association, and is president of both the Rotary Club of Youngstown and Mahoning Commons Association.
