Young Earns Trip to MIT for InvenTeam Event
Rachel Young, lead instructor at Valley STEM + ME2 Academy, will participate in an all-expenses paid trip to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Lemelson-MIT program’s annual EurekaFest in June. There she will see InvenTeam projects created by teams of high school students that received grants of up to 10,000 to fund their work. When she returns home, Young will work with students and mentors this summer to finalize Valley STEM’s application for the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam grants. “We are very excited and honored to have been selected as a finalist for the award,” Young says. MIT educators, researchers, staff and alumni will select the grant winners this fall.
