Young Leaders Getting Connected to the Community
CANFIELD, Ohio – In this excerpt from The Business Journal Roundtable Series featuring the next generation of leaders, Jacob Rickert and Kaneesha Tensley discuss younger leaders getting more connected to the community to succeed.
“How can we integrate young adults into boards and committees and get some fresh ideas flowing?,” asked Rickert, director of workforce development at Penn-Northwest Development Corporation. “We’ve had some local champions that have been driving the boat for 40, 50 years. Now it’s time to prepare the next generation to take off with the foundation they’ve built.”
“There have been many areas where this area has failed,” Tensley, an officer with Boardman Police Department said. “But it’s important to understand that it’s OK. Now we have to move on.”
