Youngstown Awards HVAC, Plumbing Work for Annex
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Board of Control this morning approved two contracts that total nearly $2.2 million for the City Hall Annex renovation.
The board approved a heating/ventilation/air conditioning contract with D&G Mechanical Inc. of West Middlesex, Pa., worth $1.7 million. D&G submitted the lowest of four bids.
Antenucci Inc., Warren, which bid $472,600, was awarded the plumbing contract. The company also beat out three competing bids.
The city is converting the annex building into space for Youngstown Municipal Court, which will relocate from the second floor of City Hall.
Last month, the city rejected plumbing and HVAC bids that exceeded the estimates for the $8 million project. At the April 14 meeting, the Board of Control awarded contracts for the general contractor, fire protection and electrical work. Mayor John A. McNally’s administration is aiming for a Sept. 1, 2017, completion date.
With all bids awarded, the general contractor, Murphy Contracting Co., Youngstown, will generate a schedule, said Chuck Shasho, deputy director of public works.
“They’ll have a progress meeting probably in the next week or so,” he said.
