Youngstown Blue Coats Celebrates New Headquarters
HUBBARD, Ohio – When it was founded in 2017, Youngstown Blue Coats served 10 people. Last year, the nonprofit organization, which supplies winter clothing to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless across 12 counties in Ohio and Pennsylvania, served nearly 3,500 people.
YBC held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate its new headquarters. The space is capable of housing the organization’s 1998 school bus that is used to travel.
“We went from 2,300 square feet to 12,000, and as you can see, we’re going to need every bit of it,” says Patty Summers, founder, president and CEO of YBC.
