Youngstown City Schools Seeks Math Teachers
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown City School District needs more high school math teachers and is willing to negotiate salaries to get them.
“School starts in less than a month and we’d like to start the year with these teaching positions filled,” said CEO Krish Mohip.
Sept. 5 is the first day of school for students. The district hopes to hire six high school math teachers to fill positions vacated when teachers left for jobs in other districts after the 2016-17 school year.
“For years, the Youngstown City School District has lost good, quality teachers to other school districts that pay more,” Mohip said. “That can’t continue. Our children need and they deserve the best teachers we can provide. If that means we have to offer more to attract them, then that’s a small price to pay for students’ education.”
To apply, go to the district website, YCSD.org, click on the “STAFF” box at the top of the page and scroll down to “Employment Opportunities.” Then click on “High School Teaching” on the left side of the screen to apply online.
