Youngstown Comic Con to Return with New Owner, Location
CANFIELD, Ohio – After a three-year hiatus forced by the pandemic, the Youngstown Comic Con will return in 2023 and in a new location. It will take place July 8-9 at the new event center at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
Previously, the comic convention took place at Covelli Centre, and before that, Packard Music Hall in Warren. The most recent one was in 2019.
The comic con also has a new owner. Corey Ward purchased the event from Greg Bartholomew earlier this year. Ward is the promoter of the Ribs ’n Rock festival at Southern Park Mall, the toy show at the fairgrounds and other regional events.
Bartholomew, owner of All American Cards and Comics of Warren, originated the event in 2008.
The comic con features dozens of vendors selling rare and unusual comic books, toys and other items. It also has speakers, contests and special guests from the comics industry.
Vendors who want to purchase a booth at the 2023 convention can do so beginning Friday, Dec. 16, by calling 330 477 8506 or emailing [email protected].
The Youngstown Comic Con will make an announcement Monday about the upcoming event.
