Leaf Relief Gets Go-Ahead for Operations

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Leaf Relief, the sole medical marijuana dispensary in Mahoning County, has received the go-ahead from the Ohio Board of Pharmacy to begin operations.

The company, a division of Quest Wellness, received its certificate of operation Thursday, according to the Board of Pharmacy. The company was awarded a provisional license last year and recently completed renovation of its building at 4323 Market St.

In order to begin selling product, the state must first issue a certificate of operation to ensure the business is in compliance with its application and program regulations.

Leaf Relief is the third medical marijuana dispensary to open in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. In February, FRX Health opened its doors in East Liverpool and gLeaf Medical in Warren began operations in April.

Strollo Architects of Youngstown redesigned Leaf Relief’s 3,200-square-foot building, which formerly housed a financial services company.

Quest Wellness, headed by local businessman Herb Washington, has also been awarded a provisional license for a processing operation in the city.

Should that project come to fruition, the city would be home to a medical marijuana dispensary, processor and cultivation operation.

Earlier this year, cultivator Riviera Creek harvested its first crop of medical marijuana and is now expanding its operations.
