Youngstown Ghost Tour Tickets Will Go on Sale Friday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Tickets will go on sale Friday for the second annual Youngstown Ghost Tour, which will take place Oct. 3-4 in the downtown area.

Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at youngstownghosttour.com. Only 444 tickets will be sold. After all tickets are sold, those who want to take the tour can sign up on the wait-list.

Because of its popularity in its inaugural year, the tour has been expanded to two days this year.

“It’s a unique way to experience Youngstown’s history and hauntings,” said Cindy Castro DiRusso, owner of Smarter Move Talent, which produces the tour.

The walking tours will begin each night at 5:30 p.m. at Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St. A tour will leave every 30 minutes.

Each tour will make 15 stops in the downtown area, where it will witness a ghostly and history-based reenactment. The schedule and description can be found on the website.

All actors are compensated for their work, and all costumes are rented from Hopewell Theatre, according to Melanie Clarke-Penella, special events coordinator for the city.

“Our goal is to support and showcase local talent through this event,” she said.

Clarke-Penella encouraged patrons to have dinner or drinks at a downtown restaurant before or after the tour.

Volunteers from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society will lead the tours. Those who would like to volunteer can email [email protected].
