Youngstown Health Department Starts Vaccination Program Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown City Health District will begin administering the COVID-19 vaccine to firefighters and EMS workers Wednesday.

Vaccines will be given from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Youngstown Fire Station No. 1 downtown, said city health commissioner Erin Bishop in an announcement Tuesday evening.

On Thursday, the city health department will partner with the  Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities to vaccinate residents and caregivers of congregate care homes in the city. That program will be held at the Eugenia Atkins Recreation Center.

Next week, Bishop continued, the Youngstown City Health District will begin traveling to other group care sites in the city to administer the vaccine.
