Youngstown Increases Contract for 20 Federal Remediation
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The city’s Board of Control approved an increase of $194,086.89 to its contract with Daniel A. Terreri & Sons Inc. for remediation work at 20 Federal Place.
The increase brings the value of the contract to nearly $7.4 million. Terreri’s original contract when it was awarded in March 2023 was just under $7 million. In 2022, the city, in partnership with the Mahoning County Land Bank, was awarded a $6.9 million state brownfield remediation grant to address environmental issues at the building, which the city is looking to redevelop and sell.
The project is substantially completed, Charles Shasho, deputy director of public works, said in an email Wednesday. The only remaining items are façade improvements where the lower building was demolished and some electrical work and minor walls to be put up where temporary shoring was installed.
“The façade work will be complete in May. That will complete the project,” he said.
