Youth Sports and the Mahoning River Boost Tourism
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio– The Mahoning Valley draws several youth sports tournaments to the area and those tournaments are a big boost when it comes to economic impact.
“Somebody that travels to your area on a day trip spends a little more than $100 a day,” says Linda Macala, executive director of the Mahoning County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “When they stay over night that figure jumps to over $300.”
