YSU Alumni Lectures Cover Worlds of Fashion, Music
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Two alumni from Youngstown State University will share their career journeys in the worlds of fashion and music as part of the Alumni Lecture Series in November.
The free lectures will be available to watch on YSU’s Alumni Engagement Facebook page.
On Nov. 5, 2003 graduate Angel Rivera will present “A Dream and the Perseverance to Make It Into a Reality.” After graduating with a baccalaureate in fashion merchandising, he went on to work at top fashion houses, including Amsale, Kenneth Pool, Christos, Kirstie Kelly and Kleinfeld. The discussion will be moderated President Emeritus Cynthia Anderson, a mentor to Rivera.
And on Nov. 12, Jason Moncreif will present “Carving a New Performance Path: The Modern-Day Performer.” The 2002 graduate of the Dana School of a Music will discuss his work with the New World Symphony and the Chicago Civic Orchestra, as well as principal flute and associate conductor of the NYC Renaissance Chamber Collaborative and flutist for the touring performance of Broadway’s “Beauty and the Beast.”
