An Akron arts organization, Curated Storefront, organized and presented collaborative exhibitions at NCECA’s 57th Annual Conference. Rick Rogers, executive director of Curated Storefront said, “Our goal is to create a diverse showcase of contemporary works in clay which emanate from the rich and ever-evolving creative epicenters of ceramic education, creation, and experimentation in northeast Ohio. To accomplish this, our creative and curatorial teams are bringing together ceramic artworks by alumni, faculty, staff, and current students into a single exhibit representing the Western Reserve of Northern Ohio.”
The exhibition, titled “Western Reserve Currents,” featured work from artists representing the following institutions, art centers, and art collections: Baldwin Wallace University, Cleveland Institute of Art, Curated Storefront, Clayton Bailey’s World of Wonders, Hieronymus, Hope Center for Arts and Technology, Kathy Koop’s Celebration of Life, Kent State University, Northern Ohio Clay, The University of Akron, and Youngstown State University.
