YSU Exhibit Features High Schoolers’ Mail Art

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The third annual High School Mail Art Show at Youngstown State University will feature more than 150 postcard-sized works from local students.

Artwork by Darby Miller of Mercer High School.

The exhibit at the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery in Bliss Hall is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Mail art is a movement that started in the 1950s as a way for artists to connect across the country. The works would be drawn or painted onto postcards and sent to other artists via post.

The High School Mail Art Show features works by juniors and senior from high schools throughout northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

Parking is available at the Wick Avenue deck for a nominal fee. More information is available by calling 330 941 2307.
