YSU Honored for Workplace Wellness Campaign
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – For the fourth consecutive year, Youngstown State University’s workplace wellness program has earned the university the Gold Level Award from the Healthy Business Council of Ohio.
The award recognizes employers that provide comprehensize workplace health programs and promotions. Living Well, YSU’s program, was launched in 2009 and offers initiatives ranging from health screenings to Weight Watchers to Fitness Flash Fridays to campaigns to help workers stop smoking.
This is the eighth year YSU has been recognized and the fourth time it has been awarded the Gold Level honor. It is the only public university in Ohio to receive the award at that level.
Other businesses in the large employer category – 1,000-plus employees, receiving an award from the Healthy Business Council include Akron Children’s Hospital and Huntington National Bank.
