YSU Named to Year-End ‘Best of’ Lists
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Several programs at Youngstown State University have been named to year-end Best Of lists, including a ranking as of the country’s 15 best online public health degrees.
That recognition from OnlineSchoolsReport.com placed YSU at No. 14 in the nation. The list considered student satisfaction, admission rate, popularity, department size, online presence and median debt.
ComputerTrainingSchools.com ranked YSU as the No. 2 computer science and information technology school in Ohio. The study, based on data from the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics and College Scorecard, looked at factors like tuition, graduation rate, the number of related tech programs, and programs awarded via distance education, among others.
And Intelligent.com included three YSU academic programs among its top online degrees nationwide: master’s in criminal justice, ranked 13th; master’s in health-care administration, ranked 16th; and master’s in business administration, ranked 36th.
Beyond academic rankings, Great Value Colleges named YSU’s No. 7 on its list of “America’s 50 Top Colleges with the Best Recycling Programs.” YSU was chosen for its commitment to developing an efficient campus-wide recycling program, while continuing to strive to provide students with a high-quality education that is affordable and accessible.
YSU is regularly ranked No. 1 in the Buckeye State in the annual RecycleMania competition, an eight-week national contest to see which colleges and universities reduce, reuse and recycle the most on-campus waste. In 2018, the YSU diverted 850 tons of recyclable, reusable, and compostable materials from the landfill and achieved a waste diversion rate of 67%.
