YSU Nursing Students Look to Improve Staffing Shortages

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – One hundred nursing students at Youngstown State University attended a job fair so they can prepare to enter the workforce after they graduate in May.

Sixteen health care vendors got to speak with students and discuss job opportunities and incentives such as starting wages, tuition reimbursement, flexible work schedule and work-life balance.

“Our graduates are looking out there and hopefully hoping to improve the staffing shortages that are happening right now so that we can give better care to the patients in our communities,” says Laura Calcagni, assistant professor of the Centofanti School of Nursing at YSU.
