YSU Partners with English University on School Psychology Conference
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University’s school psychology program will co-host a virtual conference with the University of Manchester in England in the spring.
The conference is the result of ongoing collaboration following a trip to England last spring by a group from YSU. It is open to those who participated last year, those in the YSU school psychology internship cohort and students and faculty from the University of Manchester.
Titled “International School/Educational Psychology Training and Practice during COVID-19: Identifying Successful Strategies to Guide the Next Generation,” the conference will allow participants to share projects they’ve worked on to support students, teachers and families during the pandemic.
“We also plan to utilize breakout sessions so that students from both programs and countries can work to discuss which strategies are working and which strategies, especially those that involve technology, should be kept in the future as we have quickly advanced in many areas over the past few months,” said Richard VanVoorhis, director of the YSU school psychology program, in a statement.
