YSU Sees 10.7% Increase in Enrollment for Fall Semester
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University is experiencing an enrollment surge for the fall semester.
With a total head count of 12,164 students, YSU has achieved a 10.7% increase from last year’s enrollment of 10,993, marking the university’s largest enrollment since 2018.
The growth includes an 11.4% increase in undergraduate students and an 8.1% increase in graduate students. Full-time equivalent enrollment also saw a boost, rising by 7.5% compared with fall 2023.
Highlights of the enrollment surge:
- A 13% increase in first-time undergraduate students joining the YSU community.
- A 25.6% increase in out-of-state students.
- A 106.5% rise in new transfer students.
- A 44% increase in international students.
- A 41% surge in College Credit Plus enrollment among high school students.
- A 217.8% increase in associate degree students.
- The addition of 475 students from Eastern Gateway Community College.
