YSU Students Get Financial Tour of New York City

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – During a trip to the Quninnipiac Global Asset Management Education Forum earlier this month, 20 members of the Youngstown State University Student Investment Fund visited some of New York’s financial institutions.

Over the course of the three-day conference, which hosts more than 1,500 attendees from 50 countries, YSU students participated in the forum’s portfolio competition. The Student Investment Fund manages nearly $1.4 million.

While not attending competitions and seminars, the group visited the set of CNBC’s “Fast Money” and toured the New York Stock Exchange. Participants in the Quinnipiac conference were on hand to ring the Nasdaq closing bell, with YSU represented by finance major Kelli Dougherty.

Finally, the YSU students participated in a roundtable discussion with leaders from Morgan Stanley, the sixth-largest investment bank in the world, at its Times Square headquarters.
