YSU Students Present at International Consulting Competition

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Two seniors at the Williamson College of Business Administration took part in the Soles4Souls International Consulting Competition, with one taking home awards from the conference.

Lisa Bryant, a business administration major, joined accounting major Andrew Appplegate at the X-Culture Global Symposium in Nashville, Tenn. The two were part of a group of 50 students from around the world to present ideas to Soles4Souls International, a nonprofit that provides shoes and funding to developing countries.

Applegate’s team took the top prize at the consulting competition. He also won the elevator speech contest.

All students in the Business 3715: Principles in International Business course at Youngstown State University take part in X-Culture, which involves students from 40 countries working in virtual teams to develop business projects.

At the competition, the teams finalized their presentations face-to-face before presenting them directly to executives from Soles4Souls and X-Culture professors.
