YSU Training Center to Host Ohio Manufacturing Day Event

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – An Ohio Manufacturing Day event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Excellence Training Center at Youngstown State University.

Ohio Manufacturing Day is an annual national event with manufacturers hosting students, teachers, parents, job seekers and other local community members at open houses, plant tours and presentations designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.

Speakers at the YSU event, which is free and open to the public, will discuss modern manufacturing meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturers. There will be refreshments and networking opportunities. 

Speakers will include Ken Pettit, U.S. Navy program analyst, TPP network coach; Bob Smith, director of DON SBIR/STTR Programs; Eunice Adams, NASA Office of Small Business Programs Glenn Research Center; and Tom Doehne, NASA GRC Technology Transfer Office.

Speaker presentations will begin at 9:15 a.m., following opening remarks from Jackie Ruller, Excellence Training Center director, and will cover their experiences working within organizations such as the U.S. Navy and NASA.
