YSU Welcomes Students Back with Week of Events
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University’s return to classes begins today with first-year students moving into residence halls.
The university’s annual Ignite event, which welcomes students back to campus with a week of student events and information sessions, begins Aug. 13 and will run through Aug. 15. Classes, which will be a mix of in-person, online and hybrid settings, begin Aug. 17.
This year’s theme is “Six Feet Apart, but Together at Heart.”
Among the Ignite events are campus tours – both digital and in-person – so new students can find their way to class and question-and-answer sessions with student leaders. Participation in the digital tours or Q&A sessions must be scheduled in advance HERE.
Other “welcome back” events include an outdoor movie at Heritage Park near Kilcawley Center, facemark tie-dying, terrarium building, a virtual trivia night and a virtual leadership summit.
A full schedule of events is available HERE. For more information, email [email protected] or text 330 333 0323.
