YSU’s Dana School Will Present Carols & Cocoa Dec. 2
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music will present the annual Carols & Cocoa and the Dana Holiday Concert 7 p.m. Dec. 2, at Stambaugh Auditorium.
The event, which will take place in the auditorium’s ballroom, will feature seasonal musical favorites, culminating in a holiday sing-along. Dana students will bring cookies to share, and complimentary cocoa will be available. Featured groups are the Trombone Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble, Early Music Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, University Chorus, Stambaugh Chorus and the YSU Barbershop Quartet.
“Almost 40 years ago, a new tradition began as the Dana School of Music hosted a modest sing-along in the Bliss Hall lobby,” said Alice Wang, interim director of YSU’s Dana School of Music. “It is now an outstanding musical evening consisting of the easygoing Carols & Cocoa segment, and the more formal Holiday Concert.
“Stambaugh Auditorium is a beautiful venue for these performances, allowing our students to perform in a world-class concert hall,” she continued. “We are humbled that the community supports the Dana School of Music in such a public way.”
Tickets are $11 for adults; $6 for students from other schools and senior citizens; and free for children under 12 and for YSU faculty, staff and students with a valid YSU ID. Tickets, which are all general admission, may be purchased in advance at the Stambaugh Auditorium box office in person or by phone at 330 259 0555; or online at the auditorium’s website. Tickets will also be available the evening of the performance.
