YSU’s Excellence Training Center Receives $10K Grant

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Excellence Training Center at Youngstown State University has received a $10,000 grant to support entrepreneurial pathways, co-curricular offerings and microgrants from the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.

The grant is part of nearly  $1.7 million in funding for initiatives to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship education in northeastern Ohio recently awarded by the foundation.

“We are excited to support northeast Ohio’s entrepreneurial ecosystem with this package of grants for organizations representing youth, collegiate and adult entrepreneurship programming,” said Dan Hampu, foundation president and CEO. “We look forward to learning of the impact of these grants on our community and its diverse and talented group of entrepreneurs.”

The Excellence Training Center is a workforce, education, research and commercial facility focused on advanced manufacturing. Career pathways include traditional and nontraditional certifications and industry recognized credentials offered in a wide range of areas such as IT, manual and CNC machining, industrial maintenance, robotics, automation and additive manufacturing.
