YWCA Elects Board Members, Honors Four Women
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –The YWCA of Youngstown installed two new board members and honored four women in the Mahoning Valley at its annual meeting last week.
The new board members are Ying Joy Tang, a psychology professor at Youngstown State University, and Sara Wenger, economic development program manager with Eastgate Regional Council of Governments.
Receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award was Carla Baldwin, a Mahoning County magistrate and the first African American woman to win a primary for judge in Mahoning County.
YWCA board chairwoman Rhonda Warren received the Outstanding Board Member award, while Joy Smith won the Outstanding YWCA Staff Member award and Mary Eileen Kinnard was recognized with the YWCA Resident Council Member award.
The YWCA of Youngstown also recognized PNC Bank for the time employees spent volunteering at its Discovery Place Preschool. Last year, volunteers spent more than 100 hours at the school.
