Yellow Brick Place to Announce Programs, Plans

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Yellow Brick Place, a nonprofit organization that established a cancer wellness initiative in 2010, will announce the organization’s programs, plans May 7. The announcement will take place at 10 a.m. following a ribbon-cutting at its office, 2959 Canfield Road.

Yellow Brick Place is open on a limited basis and will provide continuous hours and services after a grand opening  Sept. 12.

The organization supports and educates cancer patients and those closest to them by providing individual and group services in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. The goal is to nourish and comfort mind, body and spirit during the fight against cancer and provide a hopeful environment for cancer patients, families and their caregivers, say Donna Detwiler of North Lima and Anna Aey of Canfield, who formed the initiative.

All services are non-medical and will be free of charge. The organization’s values include providing a welcoming, peaceful and professional environment where future clients will receive encouragement and empathy in an atmosphere of dignity, respect and hope.
