SALEM – A tentative agreement between members of Salem Regional Medical Center and its nurses was reached Friday after 16 hours of bargaining.

According to Salem Regional Nurses Association President Sara Harkleroad, a registered nurse, the union will hold drop-in meetings throughout the day Saturday to allow members to review changes to the contract and begin voting.

The resuts of the vote will be announced around 2 p.m. Sunday, according to Harkleroad.

Nurses are set to strike at 7 a.m. Monday if an agreement is not reached.

Details of the proposed agreement had not been released as of Friday night and no response had been received from SRMC officials.
