2019 Idea House Features Baird Products
CANFIELD, Ohio — Products made by Baird Brothers Fine Hardwoods are featured in this year’s Idea House, featured in the most recent issue of “This Old House Magazine.”
The 6,000-square-foot Greek Revival home located in New Canaan, Conn., was built in the 1840s and was restored by Karp Associates Inc. Baird products can be found on all three floors, including select and character grade white oak flooring, custom mouldings and nearly 40 solid white oak three-panel doors, according to a company release. Notable design features include the entry hall’s intricate herringbone oak floor, sleek, modern railings for the three-story open staircase and the home’s original beehive oven on the basement level.
“We’ve had the opportunity to visit the 2019 Idea House on several occasions over the past several months, and that home is unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” said Steve Stack, sales director at Baird Brothers. “Everywhere you turn, there’s something breathtaking to look at, whether it’s the multiple double-sided fireplaces or the 8-foot solid white oak doors.”
This year’s Idea House is the fifth for This Old House, and the fourth project Baird has completed with the brand. Past projects include the 2018 Idea House, the 2018 Jamestown Net-Zero House and a recent project with House One, This Old House’s digital brand.
“Our opportunities with This Old House have been exciting and inspiring,” Stack said. “We’re side-by-side with industry leaders like Tom Silva and Kevin O’Connor, and we’re watching our locally made products get national recognition. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
