On Demand Medicine Serves Area Employers
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – On Demand Occupational Medicine, a provider for the prevention and treatment of job-related injuries and illnesses, kept busy in 2021 offering advice, testing, and administering COVID-19 vaccines to client workforces.
“HR departments found themselves facing uncertainty in every direction,” says Ruth Bowdish, managing director. “When they called us, they needed accurate information and they needed it fast. We made sure we had that information for them.”
On Demand opened immediate care offices at 5760 Patriot Blvd. in Austintown to walk-in and same-day appointments. All three approved COVID vaccines were offered, as well as boosters and pediatric versions of the vaccines.
“Our mission is helping employers provide safe workplaces,” Bowdish says. “We provided all types of testing – from antibody testing to antigen testing and PCR testing, both rapid and lab-based tests. In many cases, if employees could not come to our facility, we went to theirs, providing on-site testing to many area businesses.”
Employees who received immediate care and primary care service at the Austintown location were pleased with the quality of care and expressed interest in bringing their families, according to Bowdish.
On Demand opened the location to the general public to offer a wider array of services, including women’s health care, pediatrics and skin care in addition to its usual services.
“The public side of medical serv-ices are offered under the banner of On Demand HealthCare,” says Sydney Williams, director of marketing and community outreach. “Most common illnesses and conditions experienced by adults or children are treated at the Austintown location on a walk-in basis – no appointment is needed.”
Last year, On Demand increased its staff to 30 after hiring nurse practitioners and other health care professionals.
