America Makes Sets Interactive Event to Mark Manufacturing Day
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – America Makes, in partnership with the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition, will host an interactive educational event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in recognition of Manufacturing Day.
School-aged students from select districts and their parents will participate in engagement activities at America Makes, 236 W. Boardman St. The event will feature hands-on experiences to become acquainted with local partners and pathways, ecosystems and resources, and leveraging additive manufacturing as a gateway into advanced manufacturing careers and opportunities.
America Makes offers a “K through Grey” approach that engages the national advanced manufacturing and STEM talent pipeline. Manufacturing Day represents an opportunity to inspire future careers in the modern manufacturing industry, organizers say.
Manufacturing Day will culminate with an open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Parents, students and community members are invited to visit America Makes and engage in activities that bring awareness to the possibilities in manufacturing. All ages are encouraged to attend the free event.
