Ohio Jobless Claims Continue to Climb
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The number of Ohioans filing for unemployment continued to increase last week.
For the week ended Dec. 3, 13,083 Ohioans filed for unemployment, up from the 10,654 filed the week prior – an increase of 2,429 week-over-week, according to the Department of Job and Family Services.
Continued claims also increased. Ohioans filed 39,326 continued claims last week, which was 5,738 more than the previous week.
Ohio’s unemployment rate in October was 4.2%, ODJFS reported. The national unemployment rate in October was 3.7%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in October was 61.5%. The national labor force participation rate in October was 62.2%.
