Hosts Sought for Additional Minority Business Assistance Centers
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio’s Department of Development is seeking qualified partners to host Minority Business Assistance Centers.
The MBACs help strengthen the minority business community, support job creation and grow Ohio’s economy. These centers provide resources such as technical and professional consulting assistance, access to capital, surety bonding and connections.
“Our Minority Business Assistance Centers provide critical support to Ohio’s small, minority-owned and economically disadvantaged businesses,” said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. “We are looking for dedicated partners that are committed to helping these entrepreneurs realize their dreams of opening a business and building a legacy for their families and their community.”
The application for community-based nonprofit organizations, public economic development organizations and educational institutions with strong experience in business and economic development is available HERE. Applications will be accepted through 3 p.m. April 28 and must be electronically submitted to [email protected].
Current MBACs in the Mahoning Valley are located at the Youngstown Business Incubator in Youngstown and Brite Energy Innovators in Warren.
