Ohio Weekly Unemployment Claims Drop
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohioans filed 13,260 initial traditional unemployment claims last week, which was 2,490 fewer than the previous week, the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services reported Thursday.
State residents also filed 55,178 continued traditional unemployment claims the week of March 26-April 1, which was 1,748 fewer than the previous week.
Of the initial unemployment claims filed, 5,722 have been flagged for more stringent identity verification to ensure they are not fraudulent.
In February, Ohio’s unemployment rate was 3.9%. The national unemployment rate was 3.6%. Ohio’s labor force participation rate in February was 61.4%. The national labor force participation rate was 62.5%.
