CANFIELD, Ohio – Yurchyk & Davis CPAs reported a 15% rise in year-to-year billings in 2023.
Billings for employee benefit plan audits increased by 25% over the previous year, while billings for payroll procedures of multi-employer plans grew by 30%.
This growth will continue as the Canfield-based firm introduces new services to existing clients and acquires clients through referrals, according to David A. Eyster, president.
“Our team of auditors has become leaders in performing audits of local labor unions, employee benefit plans, nonprofit organizations and payrolls,” Eyster says. The team consists of Kristina Ross, Amy Hughes, Kyle Cirillo and Stephanie Straub.
“We have little turnover among employees, with an average of 18 years of service,” Eyster says.
This year, the firm will continue helping clients with employee retention tax credits, as well as with the new Ohio Commercial Activities Tax changes and the Secure Act updates.
In 2023, Yurchyk staffers continued to give back to the community. They again participated in the United Way’s Satur-Day of Caring, unloading food trucks and packaging foods. They also made monetary donations to several charities.
Yurchyk is not “the stereotypical accounting firm,” Eyster says. The staff has fun at its monthly themed lunch events, held swimming pool days at several country clubs, and went to Pittsburgh Pirates, Cleveland Cavaliers and Youngstown Phantoms games.
The firm also conducts an annual retreat for its staff at Hollywood Gaming casino and racetrack every January, just before tax season.
