Kent State Trumbull Receives Beds from TMH

CHAMPION TOWNSHIP, Ohio – As part of the nursing curriculum, students and faculty at Kent State University at Trumbull will be using eight new hospital beds in the nursing lab. The beds were donated by Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

“We are truly appreciative of Trumbull Memorial Hospital’s generous support,” said Kathy Dwinnells, Kent State Trumbull’s nursing program coordinator, in a release. “These newer beds more closely resemble what future nurses will encounter in today’s hospitals.”

The donation, added Trumbull Memorial CEO John Walsh, was made through the hospital’s equipment upgrade programs.

“Many of Kent State Trumbull’s nursing students train at Trumbull Memorial and go on to become our employees,” he said. “If we can provide equipment that enhances their education, then it’s a win-win for both organizations.”

Kent State Trumbull offers a four-year baccalaureate nursing degree that can be completed entirely at the Champion Township campus. Clinical requirements for the program can be completed at Mahoning Valley health care centers.
