YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Development announced Monday that it has allocated $1 million for demolition projects in Mahoning and Columbiana counties.
Mahoning County will receive $500,000 for the demolition of 30 structures. These include seven in Lake Milton, five in Lowellville, five in Struthers, four in Smith Township, three in Youngstown, two in Sebring and single projects in Canfield, New Middletown, Goshen Township and Coitsville Township.

“I’m grateful for the attention that our community is receiving from the latest round of demolition awards,” state Rep. Lauren McNally, D-59th, said in a news release. “Not only does this ensure that our neighborhood is free of hazardous substances, it allows us to create economic opportunities that will continue to make our district thrive.”
